Original by Draycott. J. A. Draycott advertised himself as lquote artist and photographerrquote in the Walsall Red Book (1890). His photographic studio was originally based on the Bridge, moving to more grand, purposebuilt premises in Leicester Square in 1891. Branches of Draycottrquote s were also located in Birmingham and Northampton. Copy of original made by W. B. Shaw. W. B. Shaw was an internationally renowned chemist and lectured at the Walsall Science and Art Institute. Photography was his hobby and he was a member of the Walsall Photographic Society. The majority of Shawrquote s photographs are copies of earlier works. In duplicating these photographs Shaw showed remarkable foresight, since in most cases it is Shawrquote s copies rather than the originals which have survived.
